Homes and businesses in the most remote areas of Oxfordshire are being offered a subsidised satellite broadband connection if they are currently unable to obtain an affordable broadband service of at least 2 Mbps. The scheme is part of the UK government’s commitment to make sure every home and business in the UK can access speeds of at least 2 Mbps by the end of 2015.
The current rollout of superfast broadband is on track to deliver coverage to 95 per cent of Oxfordshire by December 2017 but we are determined to help those with the slowest connections by providing, via this offer, an immediate boost to their available speeds ahead of any future planned improvements.
Subsidies of up to £350 are made available to each qualifying household and users are then responsible for paying any remaining cost of installation and commissioning (if any) and ongoing service charges.

Satellite Broadband in Oxfordshire
Fibre roll-out is still a number of years away for many of the most rurally isolated homes and businesses in the county. Are you frustrated by slow or unreliable broadband on a daily basis?
We can usually get you connected to superfast broadband in about a week. So if you want better broadband for your home or business in Oxfordshire now, the chances are satellite broadband could be just what you need. The Government backed voucher scheme is also now available in Oxfordshire. Depending where you live, you could be eligible for a free installation and packages offering up to 30Mb superfast broadband.
Why is satellite so well suited to rural areas?
From the sky, a satellite can “connect” to every square mile of the county with the same speed of service, something that no fibre network can ever realistically offer. With satellite, one small dish attached to your home means you can access the same speeds whether you’re on White Horse Hill or commuting to the heart of the city.
Superfast 30Mb download x 100% coverage = the right solution.
Is Avonline’s satellite broadband right for me?
To recap, consider the questions below:
- Are you constantly frustrated by slow or unreliable broadband?
- Are you unsure whether the government fibre rollout will reach you?
- Would you like to do more online, saving time and money?
- Do you pay over £200 every year for line rental just to get a bad broadband service?
- Would you like to get superfast internet access next week – maybe for free ?
If you’ve answered yes to one or more of these questions, the chances are that Avonline’s satellite broadband is right for you.
What’s more, it’s possible that you could be eligible for a free installation under the government voucher scheme now live across Oxfordshire.
Bridging the Oxfordshire digital divide
Europasat brings the perfect blend of international expertise and local service to Oxfordshire – it is Europe’s largest provider of satellite broadband, and the company’s headquarters are based in Bicester. From its hub in Oxfordshire it connects rural and homes and businesses across the globe, with its superfast satellite broadband services.
As well as giving customers in Oxfordshire a local touch, it also has the independence that other satellite broadband providers lack – it offers branded satellite broadband tariffs for all the leading European networks providers, including; Avanti, SES and Tooway – giving customers in Oxfordshire a one-stop shop so they can precisely tailor the best solution, service and value for money.
Its customers say it best - Oxfordshire resident Robert Owen comments: “I have been very impressed by Europasat. For six years I have had to suffer broadband speeds of less than 0.1Mbps – I have become a regular face at my local pub as that was the only place I could go to check my emails. Having this new connection from Europasat has been life changing. Also the customer service they have provided has been excellent. They have been particularly helpful, and it’s very reassuring to know that they are based nearby.”
Satellite broadband from Europasat provides a real and cost effective alternative to a slow or no wired broadband connection. The company can deliver a 30Mbps satellite Internet service, regardless of location.
Europasat is fully accredited partner of the Better Broadband scheme. As the UK’s biggest satellite broadband provider it has been at the forefront of negotiations with BDUK, actively encouraging the government to subsidise the installation cost for people that cannot access an affordable broadband service with a speed of at least 2Mbps per second. As a result of this scheme, Europasat has helped to get thousands more Brits online.
Europasat passionately believes that no one in Oxfordshire should have to suffer digital exclusion and prides itself on its fast installations. It also offers a fibre guarantee as standard, so if fibre broadband does become available then the customer can exit the contract with no charge.
